Kim, you're not alone. We are facing the exact dilemma as you are. We've got a sensitive 5 year old as well. She's highly expressive, very skilled artistically, advanced far beyond her years intellectually, but suffers in loud environments. She avoids her peers while gravitating toward animals, nature and adults/older children in a one on one setting. Everyone has an opinion about our desire to continue homeschooling, declaring that she will not thrive if she's not forced to enter the type of environment that never fails to cause her panicking meltdowns; a large group of loud children. I've always parentex her instintually, taking cues from her in deciding how to meet her needs. This isn't to be confused with allowing her to raise herself, but rather to always try to understand what she is trying to tell me she needs as we make attempts to meet those needs. You will know what's right for your child. Listen to him with your heart and your instinct. Your responsibly is to him alone, not the clatter of opinions you friends and family regarding your parenting decisions. Warm regards, you are not alone! :-)

I am sending my six year old indigo son to kindegarden and feel as if I am making a huge mistake. I am in a position to homeschool. Josiah is one of a kind. He speaks of ancient times...things of the future...things he couldn't possibly know. He is calm in the woods in which we live and completely stressed when we go into the city or into a public situation. If I have the means to homeschool....perhaps I should? Please, any input you have is greatly appreciated
